EQUITONE Inspira Custom FAQ

What is EQUITONE Inspira Custom?

EQUITONE Inspira Custom is a high-density custom fibre cement panel featuring digitally printed designs protected by a UV-cured surface finish. Each panel combines architectural flexibility with the proven strength and durability of EQUITONE fibre cement technology.

What makes Inspira Custom panels different from standard fibre cement panels?

Unlike standard fibre cement panels, Inspira Custom panels feature bespoke digital printing that allows unique surface designs, patterns, and textures. This enables designers and building managers to achieve fully customised facades while maintaining the mechanical strength, fire safety, and long-term durability of fibre cement.

What custom design options are available?

EQUITONE Inspira Custom offers two creative pathways: Artistic Surfaces and Unlimited Creation.

  • Artistic Surfaces includes five nature-inspired designs: Coral Grow, Coral Trace, Leaves, Carved Wood, and Sine Wave. Each showcases the interplay between organic forms and precision manufacturing.
  • Unlimited Creation allows architects to reproduce their own images, textures, or patterns directly on the panel surface, providing complete visual freedom.

What applications suit EQUITONE Inspira Custom panels?

Inspira Custom panels are ideal for ventilated facades, rainscreen cladding, soffits, eaves, and exterior ceilings. They can also be used for interior wall and ceiling linings where permitted by building codes. These panels should not be used in wet rooms or areas exposed to prolonged moisture, snow, or high heat.

How durable are EQUITONE Inspira Custom panels?

These panels are engineered for longevity, with a reference service life of up to 50 years. The UV-hardened topcoat provides permanent graffiti protection, exceptional abrasion resistance, and colour stability. They also resist extreme weather, UV radiation, frost, and many chemicals.

Are EQUITONE Inspira Custom panels fire safe?

Yes. EQUITONE fibre cement facade materials, including Inspira Custom, are non-combustible. They meet Group 1 fire classification in Australia and Group 1-S in New Zealand, fully complying with NCC and NZBC fire performance requirements.

How are EQUITONE Inspira Custom panels installed?

Panels can be installed using face-fixed or concealed fixing systems, depending on the project design. Progressive Materials recommends using Etex proprietary or approved fixing systems to ensure correct ventilation and secure mounting. Panels are easy to cut and drill using standard tools designed for fibre cement materials.

How should these panels be maintained and cleaned?

The UV-cured surface of Inspira Custom panels makes them highly dirt-resistant and easy to clean. Routine rinsing with water and mild, non-abrasive cleaning agents is sufficient. For detailed maintenance procedures, refer to the official EQUITONE Cleaning and Maintenance Guide.

Is EQUITONE Inspira Custom a sustainable cladding choice?

Yes. Inspira Custom panels are recyclable and carry an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). Their long service life, combined with low maintenance requirements, makes them a sustainable solution for modern architectural facades.
