SAS 510

Linear Ceilings

SAS International’s waveform baffles offer the same acoustic advantages of SAS 500, the significant difference being the shape of each baffle.

Product Applications

2 Application Types

The radii of the baffles can form individual elements or continual, rhythmic lines stretching across a ceiling plane.  Baffles offer an attractive acoustic solution to specifiers seeking an exposed soffit or buildings operating thermal mass cooling.

SAS 510 is a waveform acoustic baffle system directly suspended from the soffit for exposed applications. Baffles can be suspended as individual modules or continual, unbroken runs.

  • Waveform baffles for enhanced visual interest
  • Deeper modules exceeding 500mm depths
  • Superior acoustic performance due to double faced, deeper panels
  • Ideal acoustic treatment for open, exposed interiors and thermal mass cooling
  • Complete access to services due to nature of system
  • Baffles can be suspended in varying heights and angles for visual interest
  • Different sizes, shapes and colours of baffles can be combined to create visually arresting interiors
  • Minimum 25 year product life expectancy

SAS 510 Ceiling FAQ

What is the SAS 510 ceiling system?

SAS 510 is an acoustic baffle ceiling system supplied by Progressive Materials. It provides both a striking visual effect and excellent sound absorption. The system is designed for exposed soffit areas where traditional ceilings are not suitable.

Where is SAS 510 typically used?

It is ideal for transport hubs, commercial spaces, and other high-traffic public areas. SAS 510 helps to control reverberation in environments where a clean, open ceiling aesthetic is desired.

What sizes are available for SAS 510 baffles?

Standard lengths include 1200 mm, 1500 mm, 1800 mm, and 3000 mm. Depths range from 150 mm to 1000 mm, with a standard width of 52.5 mm. Bespoke sizes and shapes can also be manufactured on request.

Can the baffles be customised in shape?

Yes. Waveforms are popular, but other custom shapes are available. For waveforms, a radius of at least 1000 mm is recommended for the best results.

What finishes can I choose?

You can select from a full range of standard SAS finishes. Bespoke finishes are also available to meet unique project requirements.

Are perforations available?

Yes. SAS 510 can be supplied with any standard perforation pattern, or with a custom perforation if required.

How is SAS 510 suspended?

The system is suspended using a carrier rail, supported by threaded rods or cable hangers. This method provides a secure installation with minimal visible seams.

How does SAS 510 improve acoustics?

It offers excellent acoustic performance. Baffles typically include 50 mm deep mineral wool pads to absorb sound and reduce echo in reflective spaces.

Can lighting be integrated?

Yes. Integrated LED lighting can be incorporated into the baffles. This allows designers to streamline lighting and ceiling features.

What is the weight of the system?

SAS 510 weighs approximately 9.3 kg per linear metre, based on a standard baffle size, plus the grid weight.

What is the lifespan of SAS 510?

The system is designed to deliver a life expectancy of around 25 years, offering a reliable, long-term ceiling solution.

How can I get technical advice on SAS 510?

Progressive Materials offers full technical support. Their team can provide advice on design, installation, and custom options to suit your project.
