Compatible Systems

Systems compatible with SAS A/Maze are:

Shape and Design

The first pattern for this collection is a Leaf. It differs from a standard diamond perforation with it’s offset rounded corners, creating the illusion of texture on a flat surface. Light interacts with the design, casting shadows and refracting light to create new colours.

The signature repetitive pattern creates visual flow and movement, which are aesthetically appealing and evoke a sense of order and serenity.

The A/Maze finish is recommended for SAS200 hook-on concealed grid ceilings, SAS330 lay-on systems with exposed c-profiles and SAS600 floating rafts. A/Maze products come with optional acoustic pads to create an environment that favours serene focus.

Colours

The exclusive range of A/Maze colours are inspired by timeless geometry of nature itself. Think the maze of perfect hexagons in a honeycomb or the breath-taking facet structure in the eye of a fly. Available in the following colours:

  • Black (RAL 9005 Jet black)
  • Ice Silver (RAL 9006 White Aluminium)
  • White (RAL 9010 Pure White)
  • Honey Gold (Ambre 2525 Sable)
  • Terra Copper (Tasilaq Sable)

A/Maze Ceiling FAQ

What is A/Maze?

A/Maze is a decorative metal ceiling finish from Progressive Materials. It uses precision-cut perforations to create the look of texture across a flat panel. The design adds movement, contrast and visual focus to interior spaces.

Where is it typically used?

It suits offices, breakout zones, entryways and open-plan areas. The system works well where designers want to introduce pattern, colour or calm acoustic conditions.

What ceiling systems is it compatible with?

You can use it with SAS200 hook-on, SAS330 lay-in and SAS600 raft systems. Each type supports different tile sizes to match project needs.

What tile sizes are available?

Available sizes include 300 x 1200 mm, 600 x 1200 mm and 500 x 1500 mm. Tile size depends on the ceiling system selected.

What finishes and colours can I specify?

Available in any RAL PPC colour. SAS has developed a custom range of colours for A/Maze including: black, white, ice silver, honey gold and terra copper. All colours are drawn from natural tones and designed to support modern interiors.

What patterns are available?

The first design in the range is called Leaf. It features a soft rhombus shape with rounded corners. The result is a clean, repetitive pattern that plays with light and shadow.

Can you add acoustic backing?

Yes. Optional acoustic pads are available. These help reduce noise levels and support better sound control in open spaces.

How is this different from expanded mesh?

Expanded mesh is cut and stretched. This is a flat perforated panel that keeps tighter pattern control. It also delivers a more precise finish and lower embodied carbon. A/Maze ceilings are typically cheaper than traditional expanded mesh ceilings.

Is it easy to install?

Yes. The system is lightweight and designed for fast, simple installation. Tiles line up cleanly and sit securely within the ceiling grid.

Can the system be reused?

Yes. Panels can be removed and reinstalled with ease. This allows for future updates or layout changes without waste.

Is it a sustainable choice?

Yes. It has a lower carbon footprint compared to expanded mesh. SAS International also funds reforestation for every square metre sold.

Where is it made?

All panels are manufactured in the UK. This ensures consistent quality for this product range. Stock is kept locally in Australia for fast turn around times.
