Project Overview

The venue brings together a layered interior that balances heritage references with a contemporary dining experience. Drawing on both local identity and broader cultural influences, the space combines warmth, texture and refined detailing, creating a setting that feels both grounded and elevated.

Within this environment, the metal ceilings plays a key role in defining the bar area. The ceiling design needed to align with this balance, introducing depth and materiality while remaining integrated with the surrounding palette and lighting.

Ceiling System

The ceiling solution features a bespoke configuration derived from the SAS International 200 Metal Ceiling System, integrated with a square welded mesh infill.

  • Concealed grid system for a clean, uninterrupted ceiling plane
  • Bespoke square welded mesh design
  • Electro Brass Kinetic colour finish
  • Lighting seamlessly integrated and colour matched

The use of a concealed grid allows the ceiling to read as a continuous surface, while the mesh introduces texture and subtle transparency across the bar zone.

The Challenges

The key challenge was ensuring the ceiling aligned with the broader design narrative of the venue.

The space combines multiple influences and layered materials, so the ceiling needed to contribute to this balance without creating visual conflict. Coordination with adjacent elements, including lighting, was critical to ensuring a fully integrated result

The Solutions

A bespoke concealed grid ceiling system was developed by Progressive Materials to create a seamless and integrated result.

By combining the structure of the SAS 200 Metal Ceiling System with a custom mesh infill, the final solution delivers both consistency and detail. The concealed grid ensures visual clarity, while the mesh introduces depth and variation across the surface.

Close coordination during design and supply ensured the metal ceilings aligned with surrounding elements and maintained the overall intent of the space. Materials were delivered on time, installation progressed without delays, and support was provided throughout – from specification through to completion.

We really enjoyed working on this project. A smooth process and a stunning result.
