Control joints are a necessary requirement to facilitate structure movement and to prevent cracking. When these control joints are formed in a fire rated wall or floor, they need to be repaired to ensure the FRL of the structure is maintained.

Promat has two types of products specially designed for the Australian market. PROMASEAL IBS® backing rod is designed for movement joints where ± 15% movement of the joint size. PROMASEAL FYRESTRIP® is an intumescent based product and can accommodate movement of up to 50% of the joints size. Please consult Progressive Materials prior to any installation of these systems.
